Transportation: Transportation from the city of Santa Marta, in 4x4 vehicles driven by experienced drivers, who will take you from the city to the first stop where the walk will begin, located 2 hours from the city.
Meals: All meals from lunch on the first day to lunch on the last day, you will enjoy a delicious mix of traditional Colombian flavors, typical dishes of the region, snacks, fruits during the tour. And if you have a preference or are allergic to certain foods that is not a problem for the chef who will accompany you every day.
Accommodation: During the tour you will visit different camps that have been built by local families, which will be pleasant to sleep and have a pleasant time. In them you will find hammocks and beds, equipped with mosquito nets, blankets and pillows.

Information about the tour

Travel with humility because that guarantees the capacity of wonder on the tour.

If you are vegan, vegetarian or you have any dietary restrictions, it is important that you notify this when you are booking the tour.

If you have additional luggage or backpacks that you are not going to take to the tour, you can store it in our agency and collect it when you return, or if you go to another place such as palomino or tayrona park you can store it in the storage of the restaurant where you will have lunch the first day and pick it up on your return .

You can bring with you the chargers of your electronic devices, and if you have a powerbank you can bring it.

Bring a 1.5 liter bottle of water for the first day, you should keep the bottle because we have drinking water filters in each camp, it is free so you can refill your bottle every day.

Bring what is necessary to spend 3, 4 or 5 days in the mountains according to the tour you book.

If you come with children, consult your agency advisor so that you receive all the information about it.

Take care of your food the day before the tour, avoid foods that can cause indigestion, intoxication or other adverse reactions, also avoid getting drunk. This can be inconvenient to have a good experience.

Wear comfortable clothes to do the walk in a comfortable and pleasant way, because the temperature can be a little high sometimes, and humidity is also a reason. As well you can bring a sweater and long pants to wear at night.

Day 1
Santa Marta Mamey Camp N°1

You will be picked up at your hostel, hotel, airbnb or wherever you are in Santa Marta City at 7 am.

Upon leaving the agency in Santa Marta, we will go for 2 hours in a 4x4 vehicle, after 1 hour we will arrive at a place called Guacatera where you will receive an identification bracelet as a visitor, in this place we will be for 20 minutes and then do the rest of the route by car for 45 minutes to the town of Mamey.

When we arrive at Mamey we will have lunch there, and then start the walk for 4 hours to the first camp, called Adam camp or Alfredo camp.

During the route to the camp you can see beautiful landscapes, eat delicious fruits, the camp is equipped with beds, hammocks, a store to buy drinks such as Gatorade, water, there are also showers and toilets in the camp.

In the first camp (Adam or Alfredo) we will sleep the first night, and you can also taste a delicious traditional Colombian Caribbean dinner cooked by our local chefs.
Day 2
Camp N°1 Camp N°2 Camp N°3

At 5:30 a.m., you will have a delicious and typical breakfast on the first
camp, and then at 6 a.m. we will walk to the second called Mumake camp for 3 hours, after the first hour of walking we arrive at the place called "Mata de café" there we will eat a delicious watermelon, very refreshing after one hour walking.

After the short break in "Mata de Cafe" we will continue walking for 2 more hours until we reach the Mumake camp, in camp #2 we will have lunch, and we will visit the Buritaca river where we can swim and have a pleasant time.

After lunch, we will walk for 4 hours until we reach the Paraiso camp, where we will sleep the second night and have a traditional dinner. During the route from the mumake camp to the paradise camp, we will stop a few times to eat fruits (pineapples and oranges) and rest.

The camp is equipped with beds, hammocks, a store to buy drinks like Gatorade, water, there are also showers and toilets in the camp.
Day 3
Camp N°3 Lost City Camp N°2

At 5:30 a.m. you will have a delicious and typical breakfast in the Paradise camp, and then at 6 am start the walk to the LOST CITY for 1 hour, and climb the 1,200 steps on the famous stairs built by the Tayronas to reach up.

Once we get to the historical LOST CITY, at the archaeological site you will be around 4 hours visiting the 4 sections of the Lost City, receiving information about its history, how it was discovered and you will receive a delicious snack prepared by our staff.
​

Lunch at Paradise Camp, rest, and then 3 hours of walking to Mumake Camp, where you will sleep the second night of the tour.
​

At Mumake camp you will have a delicious dinner, and time to visit the Buritaca River and spend a pleasant moment there.
Day 4
Camp N°2 Camp N°1

Breakfast in the morning at 5:30, and then 3 hours of walking to get to the first camp Adam or Alfredo, in this camp you will have a snack and juice, you will rest the rest of the day.

You will spend the rest of the day in camp # 1 Adam or Aldredo, in this camp you will have lunch at 11:30 am and also eat a delicious dinner cooked by our chef.

You will sleep the fourth night of the tour, and the next morning return to the town of Mamey.
Day 5
Camp N°1 Mamey Santa Marta

Breakfast in the morning at 5:30, and then 3 hours of walking to get to Mamey.

Lunch in the Mamey town to then board the 4x4 vehicles to go to Santa Marta, or drop you off at the bus station to go to Palomino or there is also the option to drop you off at Tayrona Park, Buritaca, Playa los Angeles or Costeño Beach.

Payment Policy

To book the tour you must pay a deposit of 10% of the total tour through the links published on our official website, the remaining balance of the tour can be paid by credit card or cash (only colombian pesos) at the office in Santa Marta.

The full price of the tour must be paid the same day the of the tour, but we recommend paying the rest of the price one day in advance of the day your adventure begins.

Cancellation

If you already have your confirmed reservation, you can cancel it or change its date, but you must do it the day before between 8:00 am and 5:00pm, you will not have any type of penalty.

For changes and cancellations made the same day of the tour, there are charges of 20%.
